His father is a Retired master of ceremonies and thrift shop team member by profession, whereas his mom is a former traveling fan dancer and cosmetics store saleswoman. Moreover, he grew up by sharing his childhood with his elder brother, Leonard Douglas Simmons, Jr.

Talking about his education, the fitness trainer went to New Orleans' Cor Jesu High School, renamed Brother Martin High School, after he graduated. Then, he joined the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
