Leisha Hailey is best known for her portrayal of Alice Pieszecki in Showtime's drama series The L Word. She was born on 11th July 1971 in Japan to American parents, whereas she was raised in Bellevue, Nebraska.

The actress first came to the attention of the public in 1991 through The Murmurs, a pop music duo alongside fellow singer and academy classmate Heather Grody. In 2007, she became a part of an electropop duo Uh Huh Her with Camila Grey.

Speaking in an interview with Dennis Hensley in 2004, the actress wasn't particularly comfortable talking about her break up with k.d. When asked if they're still friends, Hailey responded with - "It's a very private matter for me."

Leisha added, she learned massively from her dating life with her former girlfriend. She admitted being sentimental about the whole thing and looked back on it with fond memories.

Hailey began dating her bandmate girlfriend, Camila Grey in 2011. However, their relationship was not public until an incident at Southwest Airlines, where the couple was ejected from the plane. They reportedly argued with the flight attendant, who wanted them to stop kissing. The pair subsequently released a joint statement that read:

In no way were our actions on Southwest Airlines excessive, inappropriate or vulgar … it was one, modest kiss. We are in the process of filing a formal complaint with the airline. We hope that when all is said and done a greater tolerance without prejudice will evolve.

The couple was together for five years before calling it quit in 2016.

Leisha Hailey began her music career with Heather Grody after forming a pop duo called The Murmurs back in 1991. Throughout the 1990s, they released numerous albums and went on tours.

Leisha and Heather changed the name of their band to Gush in 2001. The group disbanded four years later after Hailey got cast in the Showtime series The L Word.

Hailey's other music endeavors include her stint alongside Camila Grey in the electropop duo Uh Huh Her. They released their first album in 2008 called Common Reaction. Earlier in 2005, she co-wrote a hit song Don't Bother from Shakira.
